Changzhou, Jiangsu, China, September 10: Printed electronics, a burgeoning manufacturing technology applying traditional printing techniques to create electronic components and products, is demonstrating immense development potential and broad market prospects. Seizing this development opportunity, our city has taken the lead nationwide in establishing a Printed Electronics Industry Research Institute. Yesterday morning, the institute was officially inaugurated, registered with a capital investment of 50 million yuan from Changzhou City and the High-tech Zone. Party Secretary Yan Li and Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Zou Jing unveiled the sign for the Changzhou Printed Electronics Industry Research Institute. Yan Li pointed out that the establishment of the institute will allow our city to seize the future opportunity for China's information industry to break free from "low-end lock-in," enabling Changzhou to gain a developmental advantage in this strategic emerging industry and adding impetus to Changzhou's transformation and upgrading. Simultaneously with the unveiling of the Changzhou Printed Electronics Industry Research Institute, the Changzhou High-tech Zone also established a printed electronics industry fund and signed an agreement with the China Printed Electronics Industry Technology Innovation Alliance for the joint construction of a printed electronics industrial base.

Deputy Mayor Wang Chengbin presented the appointment letter to the Dean of the Institute, Zhang Xiacang.
The Changzhou Institute also signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech and four projects—printed biochips, nanosilver paste, etc.—signed agreements to enter the institute.
According to the introduction, printed electronics technology boasts advantages such as simple production processes, low raw material consumption, low equipment investment, and low-cost production, making it a green manufacturing technology. It is estimated that by 2025, the annual sales of various printed electronic products will reach US$300 billion. Our city's electronic components are mainly concentrated in miniature electroacoustic devices, diodes, PCBs, and capacitors, among which miniature electroacoustic devices, diodes, and PCBs rank among the top in the country, providing a solid foundation for the development of the printed electronics industry.
