Dr. Zhang Xiacang's speech brought the "First China Functional Materials Printing Technology Development Forum" to a climax

The "China International Internet of Things Expo," held annually in Beijing, is the largest Internet of Things expo recognized by the industry. It is hosted by the National Golden Card Project Coordinating Leading Group Office and co-hosted by the National Golden Card Project Internet of Things Application Alliance and the China RFID Industry Alliance. The expo receives significant industry attention each year. The 2013 China International Internet of Things Expo will be held from June 4th to 6th, 2013, at the Beijing Exhibition Center.
At the beginning of the conference, Hans Werner Reinhard, Vice President of Düsseldorf Exhibitions (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., explained the significance of holding this forum. He stated that electronic printing is a part of the printing industry, and holding such a forum allows people to better understand how consumers view printing technology. He also revealed that Drupa 2016 will also be combined with functional printing.
Xu Jinfeng, on behalf of the organizer, the China Printing and Equipment Industry Association, delivered a speech. He stated that the purpose of holding this forum is to further promote the development of the functional material printing industry. Traditional printing mainly uses paper and plastic materials, but with the development of market needs, functional material printing has shown vitality and broad prospects.
Subsequently, Dr. Martin Schmitt-Lewen, Senior Manager of the New Printing Application Research and Development Department of Heidelberg; Song Yanlin, researcher, doctoral supervisor, and director of the New Materials Laboratory at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wolfgang Mildner, Managing Director of PolyIC; Chen Hongqi, General Manager of Shantou Ouge Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd.; Zhao Weiqiang, General Manager of Tianjin Green Motion Energy Technology Co., Ltd.; Xue Zhicheng, chief engineer of Shaanxi Beiren Printing Machinery Co., Ltd.; and Dr. Zhang Xiacang, inventor of paper batteries and chairman of Enfucell Fiexible Electronics LTD., introduced the latest electronic printing technologies of their respective companies.
Among them, the presentations by Heidelberg and Enfucell Fiexible Electronics LTD. were the most impressive. As a global giant in traditional printing machinery manufacturing, Heidelberg has never stopped expanding into wider fields in recent years. Dr. Martin's speech vividly illustrated the company's technological development in the field of electronic printing. According to him, Heidelberg's latest technology has begun to be applied in 3D printing, intelligent packaging, RFID, and other fields, and will further expand research and development in more areas in the future. The numerous electronic printing technology samples he brought also attracted great interest from the audience.
Zhang Xiacang, chairman of Enfucell Fiexible Electronics LTD., and inventor of paper batteries, introduced the thin-film printed paper battery technology, which pushed the forum to a climax. This technology features ultra-thin, soft, and environmentally friendly products, representing a new generation of battery technology. The end products of thin-film printed paper battery technology include active or semi-active RFID electronic tags, tag sensors, smart cards and smart packaging, medical electronic patches, and cosmetics.
The successful convening of this forum has pointed out new areas for domestic printing companies that are currently developing. It is also reported that the China Functional Material Printing Technology Development Forum is expected to be held again in 2014.
